Your Role & Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, resilient back-end services supporting data-intensive clinical and analytics applications
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, validation, transformation, and replication across systems
- Build cloud-native solutions using Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Storage
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and Engineers to translate requirements into robust technical solutions
- Package, deploy, and manage applications using Docker containers in a cloud environment
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and manage code through Git repositories
- Create and maintain data catalogs, dashboards, and documentation for datasets and pipelines
- Troubleshoot complex system issues using root cause analysis and data investigation techniques
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to DevOps best practices
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture and design discussions
Skills & Experience You Should Possess
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering or backend development
- Strong programming skills in Python (primary), with exposure to Java, Go, or similar languages
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and distributed systems
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
- Knowledge of modern software development practices including CI/CD, containerization, and microservices architecture
- Experience with Linux-based systems and containerized environments (Docker)
- Familiarity with databases, data warehousing, and analytics platforms
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with cross-functional teams
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience working in healthcare, life sciences, or research environments
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform tools (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud SQL, etc.)
- Knowledge of data validation frameworks and data quality assurance practices
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Veracode, Prisma Cloud
- Background in scientific domains such as biology, genetics, or biochemistry
- Exposure to machine learning or advanced analytics pipelines
Education & Certifications You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (required)
- Master’s degree in a related field (preferred)
- Equivalent experience will also be considered
