Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable, resilient back-end services supporting data-intensive clinical and analytics applications
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, validation, transformation, and replication across systems
  • Build cloud-native solutions using Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Storage
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and Engineers to translate requirements into robust technical solutions
  • Package, deploy, and manage applications using Docker containers in a cloud environment
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and manage code through Git repositories
  • Create and maintain data catalogs, dashboards, and documentation for datasets and pipelines
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues using root cause analysis and data investigation techniques
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to DevOps best practices
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture and design discussions

 

Skills & Experience You Should Possess

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering or backend development
  • Strong programming skills in Python (primary), with exposure to Java, Go, or similar languages
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and distributed systems
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
  • Knowledge of modern software development practices including CI/CD, containerization, and microservices architecture
  • Experience with Linux-based systems and containerized environments (Docker)
  • Familiarity with databases, data warehousing, and analytics platforms
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with cross-functional teams

 

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience working in healthcare, life sciences, or research environments
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform tools (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud SQL, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data validation frameworks and data quality assurance practices
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Veracode, Prisma Cloud
  • Background in scientific domains such as biology, genetics, or biochemistry
  • Exposure to machine learning or advanced analytics pipelines

 

Education & Certifications You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (required)
  • Master’s degree in a related field (preferred)
  • Equivalent experience will also be considered
