Turn Complex HubSpot Data Into Insights That Drive Decisions

Trissential is partnering with a mission‑driven, higher‑education–focused nonprofit that recently migrated to an Enterprise HubSpot instance. They are seeking a senior‑level HubSpot reporting expert who can design, build, validate, and explain advanced reports and dashboards that leadership and operational teams can rely on.

This is not a basic reporting role. You’ll work with complex object relationships, datasets, custom behavioral events, and advanced visualization strategies—while also training internal staff to confidently use and interpret the reports you build.

What’s in It for You?

  • High‑Impact Work – Your reports will directly influence revenue attribution, marketing performance, and journey analytics
  • Advanced HubSpot Ownership – Work deeply with Custom Report Builder, datasets, and cross‑object relationships
  • Hybrid Flexibility – Balance in‑office collaboration with remote focus time
  • Consultative Influence – Advise when HubSpot reporting is sufficient and when Power BI is the better solution
  • Knowledge Transfer – Showcase your expertise by training and upskilling internal teams

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and validate advanced HubSpot reports and dashboards using Custom Report Builder
  • Create reports leveraging datasets, custom properties, calculated fields, filters, and cross‑object relationships
  • Build reports using connective data sources where native object associations do not exist
  • Apply measures and dimensions appropriately for scalable and reusable reporting
  • Implement Custom Behavioral Events to track user actions across: • Public‑facing websites
  • Secure, role‑based portals
  • Select and justify the most effective data visualizations (bar, line, table, etc.) based on business context
  • Apply filters for timeframes, lifecycle stages, pipelines, and campaign attribution
  • Design dashboards that support: • Cross‑dashboard user journeys
  • Scenarios requiring multiple dashboards vs. consolidated views
  • Implement consistent design and usability patterns to support self‑service reporting adoption
  • Demonstrate manual, user‑selectable data refresh mechanisms between scheduled refreshes
  • Advise when exporting HubSpot datasets to Microsoft Power BI Desktop is the most appropriate reporting solution
  • Train organizational staff on: • Report interpretation
  • Dashboard usage
  • Foundational reporting best practices

Skills & Experience You Should Possess

  • 8+ years of hands‑on experience in HubSpot reporting, analytics, or CRM data analysis
  • Proven portfolio of HubSpot reports and dashboards built with Custom Report Builder
  • Strong experience working with: • HubSpot datasets
  • Custom properties and calculated fields
  • Cross‑object relationships and formula‑based lookups
  • Deep understanding of: • Revenue attribution reporting
  • Email marketing analytics
  • Journey and funnel analytics
  • Experience implementing and analyzing Custom Behavioral Events
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable visual insights
  • Strong communication skills—you can explain why a report is built a certain way, not just how

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience integrating HubSpot data with Microsoft Power BI Desktop
  • Background supporting nonprofit, education, or membership‑based organizations
  • Experience training non‑technical users on reporting tools
  • Familiarity with enterprise CRM migrations or system transitions
  • Strong data storytelling and stakeholder presentation skills

Education & Certifications You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • HubSpot certifications (Reporting, Marketing Ops, or CRM) are strongly preferred
