Build the Backbone of a High-Impact Energy Forecasting Platform

Are you a Databricks-focused Platform Engineer who enjoys building reliable, scalable data foundations that power advanced analytics and machine learning? Trissential is hiring a Technology System / Platform Engineer to join our client’s team supporting a granular electrical load forecasting platform a strategic initiative shaping how energy demand is forecasted at the feeder and circuit level.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your work directly supports data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders across a complex enterprise environment.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines and workflows within Databricks
  • Integrate forecast inputs from multiple internal data providers and teams
  • Ensure reliable, secure, and scalable data flows across development, test, and production environments
  • Support ingestion of non-standard and legacy data sources, including cleanup and standardization
  • Manage code deployment using Git and DBX asset bundles
  • Collaborate with platform engineering teams on data governance, security, and compliance
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and monitoring across cloud and hybrid environments
  • Troubleshoot platform and data pipeline issues across dev/test/QA/prod
  • Act as a technical liaison between IT, analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders

Skills & Experience You Should Possess

  • Strong, hands-on experience with Databricks (core requirement)
  • Experience building and supporting ETL pipelines and workflows
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience integrating data from multiple teams or business domains
  • Solid understanding of enterprise security, scalability, and performance considerations
  • Clear and effective communication skills, including working with non-technical stakeholders

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Databricks certification
  • Energy, utilities, or power industry experience
  • Experience supporting non-standard or legacy data ingestion
  • Familiarity with enterprise integration platforms, APIs, or middleware
  • Exposure to SAP IS-U, data conversion, or large-scale data migration efforts

Education & Certifications You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Databricks certification is a strong plus, but not required
