Your Role & Responsibilities
- Design, code, configure, test, debug, and document ServiceNow application enhancements across modules
- Analyze functional requirements and draft technical design specs, ensuring alignment with user acceptance criteria
- Engage in code/design architecture reviews and provide insightful feedback to maintain quality and consistency
- Maintain operational and system documentation, helping with issue escalation and resolution to minimize downtime
- Anticipate and resolve inconsistencies in technical specifications, communicating potential impacts to stakeholders
Skills & Experience You Should Possess
- 5–7 years of ServiceNow development experience, including scripting (JavaScript/Java)
- Strong track record in process improvement and automation on the ServiceNow platform
- Comfortable working within Jira, agile boards, and sprint ceremonies
- Experience transitioning from BA to Developer—bringing deep business context to technical delivery
- ServiceNow certifications (e.g., CSA, CAD) that validate platform proficiency
- Collaborative approach, cross-functional teamwork, adaptability, attention to detail, and strong communication skills tailored to both technical peers and business stakeholders
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience in a regulated or matrixed enterprise environment
- Familiarity with recent releases Utah, Tokyo, and currently Washington DC in ServiceNow
Education & Certifications You Need
- No specific degree required—relevant professional experience matters most
- ServiceNow platform certifications (Certified System Administrator or Application Developer) are a must
