Trissential is hiring a Business Analyst to join our client’s team in Minneapolis. You’ll support high-visibility initiatives in wildfire mitigation, drone (UAS) integration, and utility operations. Your Role & Responsibilities
- Serve as the main liaison between business teams and technical teams to translate needs into functional and non-functional requirements
- Elicit, document, and manage comprehensive business and technical requirements using structured interviews, process analysis, and workflow design
- Maintain traceability of requirements, approvals, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Create and manage test plans, test cases, and UAT coordination with business stakeholders
- Support mandatory PMO lifecycle documentation, meeting reporting (DOR/WOR/MOR), and governance processes using LEAN practices
- Assist in integrating UAS (drone) data into Databricks systems for asset integrity and repair prioritization
- Document meeting outcomes, decisions, and stakeholder feedback clearly and consistently
- Work with diverse teams including distribution ops, vegetation management, data analytics, architecture, and external vendor partners
Skills & Experience You Should Possess
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis, ideally in the energy, utilities, or regulated industries
- Proven ability to gather, manage, and trace requirements through the lifecycle of a project
- Strong skills in UAT planning, test coordination, and functional documentation
- Effective communication and stakeholder management across technical and non-technical groups
- Experience with Databricks, SAP, Jira, Excel (advanced functions), or GIS-related tools
- Familiarity with both Waterfall and Agile environments and related documentation practices
- Strong attention to detail and meeting facilitation skills, including agenda preparation and follow-up documentation
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience with wildfire mitigation, drone data, GIS, or vegetation management systems
- Hands-on experience with Unity, ProjectWise, or LEAN methodologies
- Exposure to PMO reporting, Agile ceremonies, or business analysis certifications like CBAP or PMI-PBA
Education & Certifications You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field required
- Certifications in business analysis or project methodology are preferred but not required
