We are seeking a Data Architect to join our client team in Denver, CO. Must be able to work a flex/hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office each week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

Responsibilities

Job Summary: 

As a Data Architect, your role involves performing Databricks Platform administration and deploying applications on the AWS Databricks platform. You’ll handle administration, configuration, and optimization to support data analytics, machine learning, and data engineering activities. Collaborating with data engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders, you’ll ensure the platform aligns with requirements while maintaining security and performance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Databricks Platform administration and deployment on the AWS Databricks platform
  • Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to align the platform with requirements
  • Maintain security and performance standards of the platform
  • Onboard new use cases/users, ensuring security and account setup
  • Utilize Click and FiveTran for data ingestion, along with custom setups
  • Pull data from various sources for ingestion
  • Present data using Business Objects/Power BI and SAC
  • Possess a background in data lakes and high-level architecture
  • Have a strong SQL background and tuning skills
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain Databricks clusters and workspaces
  • Use Infrastructure as Code (IAC) via Terraform for provisioning and deployment
  • Optimize cluster configurations and monitor performance
  • Implement and manage access controls and security policies
  • Manage platform feature releases and updates
  • Provide technical support and conduct training sessions
  • Monitor and manage auto-scaling for resource efficiency
  • Stay updated with security best practices and compliance
  • Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies
  • Integrate Databricks with other data sources and warehouses
  • Manage platform costs and optimize resource utilization
  • Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (computer science, data engineering, etc.)
  • 7+ years of related professional experience
  • 3 years’ experience with Databricks Lakehouse Platform Architecture on AWS
  • Strong knowledge of IaC via Terraform HCL, SQL, Python, Apache Spark, Gitlab CI/CD pipelines, MLOps, Databricks Bundles
  • Proficiency in AWS cloud platforms
  • Experience in Utility and Energy related business is a plus

Benefits

Trissential offers competitive compensation package for full time roles. The pay range for this role is $125,000 to $130,000 annually based on candidate's qualifications and experience.  This role is benefits eligible, and includes options for medical, dental, vision, and tele-health benefits; Employee Assistance Program; Health Savings Account with company contribution; up to 48 hours of accrued paid safe and sick time, and 401k retirement savings.
